Hyaluronic acid filler
Volume & Lift
Discover hyaluronic acid filler
As we age, our face changes and we lose volume in our bones and skin. As a result, the contours of our face change, our skin sags and folds and wrinkles appear. As a result, we may end up with a tired or aged look that doesn't quite match how we really feel.
Want to do something about it? Restore volume loss and skin sagging in your face through hyaluronic acid filler treatment. By using different types of fillers, we can treat many different indications.
- Restore skin laxity and volume loss
- Suitable for many indications
- Different types of hyaluronic acid fillers

Aging
Youth triangle
A young face is characterised by high cheekbones, full cheeks, a tight jawline, elastic skin and full lips. The symmetrical V-shape of the face with volume high on the cheekbone is also known as the triangle of youth.
Pyramid of old age
As we age, 2 types of volume loss occur in our face. On the one hand, the volume of the bones in our face (cheekbones & jaw) decreases. This is called bone resorption. On the other hand, with age, the volume and hydration of subcutaneous fat tissue decreases. As a result, the skin sags and wrinkles and folds appear more and more. These processes create, for example, the nasolabial fold, the so-called hamster cheeks, the jawline becomes saggier and our lips become thinner. This is also known as the pyramid of ageing.
Restore skin sagging and volume loss
With hyaluronic acid fillers, we can restore skin sagging and volume loss in the face.
More about Hyaluronic acid filler
What is it?
A hyaluronic acid filler is a gel that contains hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a moisture-binding substance that occurs naturally in our skin and decreases as we age. The moisture-binding property of hyaluronic acid keeps the connective tissue under the skin in shape and keeps the skin tighter, radiant and fresh. A hyaluronic acid filler is a temporary filler and is eventually completely broken down our body.
How does it work?
Hyaluronic acid-based fillers are used to add more volume and/or firmness to the skin, reduce wrinkles and folds, accentuate contours or shape lips. Moreover, they improve skin condition due to hyaluronic acid's moisture-binding properties. The result of a filler treatment is immediately visible and usually lasts for 6 to 12 months.
What types are there?
Hyaluronic acid fillers are available in different types suitable for treating specific indications. Our preferred fillers are the A-brands Aliaxin (from IBSA) and Belotero (from Merz) because of their purity and reliability.
Where does it work?
Over the years, our mouth muscles lose volume, resulting in our lips falling inwards more and becoming thinner. In addition, the colour line between the lip red and the skin becomes increasingly blurred. Filler can complement the loss of volume and correct the contours.
These predominantly vertical lines appear when we pucker our lips. As we age, they remain visible even when we relax the lips. With hyaluronic acid filler, we can reduce these lines.
Restore volume loss and skin sagging in the 'midface' (cheekbones and cheeks) with hyaluronic acid filler. By combining different types of fillers, volume loss and skin sagging can be optimally restored.
The tear ducts, also called puffiness, can become more droopy and/or darker as we age. This give a tired look. With hyaluronic acid filler, we can soften these folds.
Certain fillers do not give volume but firm the skin and improve elasticity and structure. These types of fillers are particularly suitable for areas such as the neck, décolletage, upper arms and the tops of the hands.
These folds, which run on either side from the nose to the corners of the mouth, deepen as we age. This can give the face a tired or worried expression.
The shape and firmness the jawline is genetically determined, but as we age, the jawline always slackens to a greater or lesser extent. This is one of the most typical changes that make us look less young. The contour of the jawline can be restored or improved with fillers.
Marionette lines run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin. They can appear at a fairly young age and give a somewhat sad look. Filler can fill in deeper lines.
Fine lines in the face can be filled with superficial fillers.
The area around the cheekbones is particularly prone to volume loss over time. This is well correctable with a hyaluronic acid filler.
The volume on our forehead slowly decreases with age. Also, a slightly round forehead is usually considered a beauty ideal.
As we age, the temples also lose volume. Placing fillers in this area can make the face look younger and fresher.
Sometimes the position of the chin deviates from the aesthetic norm. In addition, the chin gets smaller over the years. Fillers can remedy both.
A filler can improve or correct the nasal shape without surgical techniques.

Treatment
Consultation
During the consultation, the doctor will discuss your cosmetic wishes and related treatment techniques and advise you on the best way to achieve an effective and natural result. You will receive information on the expected effect, possible side effects, risks, and cost. The doctor will draw up your individual treatment plan and discuss informed consent.
Treatment
Filler treatments are usually perceived as painful, which is why we numb the areas we are going to treat with an anaesthetic cream and/or lidocaine injections. After the anaesthetic takes effect, we inject the filler with a fine needle and/or cannula. Sometimes we massage the treated areas to get an even result. An average treatment lasts 30 minutes.
After the treatment
After a filler treatment, it is especially important not to touch the treated area and not to wear make-up for the first day. Immediately after treatment, you can resume most daily activities (except sports, sauna, beauty treatments). Our aftercare brochure describes all aftercare instructions. About four weeks after treatment, we would like to see you again for a check-up and evaluation of the treatment result.
Side effects
Side effects that may occur due to filler treatment are usually mildly temporary in nature. These include fluid accumulation (oedema), swelling, pain, itching, skin discolouration (redness, bruising), sensitivity and product accumulation (nodules) due to the injection. You can cool the treated areas with an ice or cold compress for the first few hours after treatment to limit this. After that, only in consultation with your doctor. If swelling and/or redness persist for more than 7 days or the areas are very painful or unusually hot or cold, contact us immediately!
Result
The result of a filler treatment is immediately visible, but the final result is only achieved after about 1 month. The result of treatment usually remains visible between 6 and 12 months. The duration and extent of the effect depends on age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity. In areas that are very mobile, such as the lips, the treatment works for a shorter period of time.
