What are your cosmetic wishes?

What do you see in the mirror?

A smooth and healthy skin that radiates vitality is a beauty ideal for many, but unfortunately not a reality for all. Our skin, with its protective function, has to endure a lot in a lifetime. Not only genetic predisposition plays a role in the appearance and ageing of our skin, there are also numerous medical conditions and external factors affecting it's condition.

Skin aging

From the age of 25 onwards, the skin already starts to age, although the effects only become well visible between 35 and 40. As we age, many biological processes slow down, including skin renewal.

Our muscles lose volume and the production of collagen, which makes up 70% of our connective tissue and gives our skin its firmness and elasticity, gradually decreases. This not only slackens and sags the skin, but also creates the so-called 'static' wrinkles and folds, such as the nose-lip fold. In addition, due to years of contraction of facial muscles, which we use for our facial expressions, 'dynamic' wrinkles appear on the skin, such as the frown, crow's feet and forehead lines.

Age-related symptoms we treat at our clinic:
- Static and dynamic wrinkles and folds
- Sagging skin
- Dry and/or sallow skin

Skin disorders

Many skin conditions have adverse effects on skin quality:

  • Scars
  • Pigmentation spots
  • Redness
  • Pimples and blackheads
  • Bumps, birthmarks, warts, etc.

The collaboration of dermatologist Dr Gamze Piskin and skin therapist Karlijn Veling at SkinSensible offers unique benefits:

  • Expert medical diagnosis
  • Integral treatment plans for medical and cosmetic skin problems
  • Large arsenal of treatment options for medical conditions, skin improvement and skin care
  • More pain management options for treatments
  • Excellent aftercare

In some cases, you can get part of the cost of skin therapy reimbursed through your supplementary insurance.

External factors

Besides ageing and skin disorders, external factors also take their toll. Air pollution and weather influences, such as: sun, wind and cold, are some examples, but an unhealthy lifestyle also contributes to diminishing skin condition. You will often hear us tell you to use good sun protection (SPF50) as a basis in preventing skin ageing.
