What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is made up of a soft gel with calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. Radiesse is a so-called biostimulator. This means that Radiesse not only fills, but also stimulates the skin to produce its own collagen.
How does Radiesse work?
The gel in Radiesse provides an immediate lifting effect, reduces wrinkles and improves contours. The calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres stimulate the natural production of collagen in the skin. Sagging skin becomes firmer and regains its tightness and elasticity. The gel and microspheres are completely broken down by your body. The effect of the newly produced collagen lasts much longer (> 12 months).

During the consultation, the doctor will discuss your wishes and the corresponding treatment techniques with you and advise you on the best way to achieve an effective and natural result. You will receive information about the expected effect, potential side effects and risks, and the costs.
Treatment
During the treatment, Radiesse is injected into the skin using a fine needle or cannula (blunt needle). A treatment with Radiesse can cause slight discomfort or mild pain. Therefore, a local anaesthetic is usually applied to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. A treatment usually takes approximately 30 minutes.
After the treatment
Following a treatment with Radiesse, it is particularly important not to touch or cleanse the treated area for the first 12 hours and not to wear make-up. All aftercare instructions are described in our aftercare brochure.
Side effects
Radiesse side effects are usually mild and temporary in nature. The skin may be somewhat red and swollen after treatment. In some cases, a bruise may appear or some temporary bumps may be visible. These and other possible side effects are discussed during the consultation.
