Discover Youlaser Prime
SkinSensible is the first clinic in the Netherlands with the new Youlaser Prime MT. The Youlaser Prime MT uses advanced hybrid technology that combines a powerful ablative fractional CO2 laser (10600nm, 50W) with a powerful non-ablative fractional fibre laser (1550nm, 18W).
The advanced Mixed Technology of the Youlaser Prime MT allows both lasers to be applied to the skin both separately and simultaneously to achieve optimal treatment results and faster recovery times.
The Youlaser Prime is great for subtle and intensive skin improvement of both the superficial and deeper skin layers and treatment of (acne) scars.

More about Youlaser Prime
How does a fractional laser work?
A laser beam contains thermal energy that penetrates the skin and causes controlled evaporation of water in the skin cells. The laser works fractionally, meaning that only part of the skin is treated with so-called microbeams, while the surrounding skin cells remain intact. In this way, the treatment is safe and controlled and the treated skin recovers faster.
The controlled evaporation of water in the skin stimulates the body to activate a healing process, producing collagen and elastin. These increase skin firmness and elasticity. The heat from the laser also causes tissue shrinkage, refining skin texture and improving blood flow. This gives the skin a more even colour and a fresher appearance. Increased collagen production slows down the skin's ageing process.
What is non-ablative and ablative laser?
The fractional fibre laser (1550nm) of the Youlaser Prime MT is called a non-ablative laser. This non-ablative laser heats the deeper skin layers without damaging the top skin layer. It stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, making it ideal for treating fine lines and overall skin rejuvenation. Recovery time is short, with mild redness and swelling disappearing after a few days.
The fractional CO2 Laser (10600nm) of the Youlaser Prime MT is called an ablative fractional laser. This ablative laser makes a lot of tiny holes in the top skin layer. This intensive treatment, which will exfoliate the epidermis, leads to significant improvement in skin texture and elasticity. It is very effective for treating deep wrinkles, (acne) scars and sun damage. However, the recovery time is longer and can take up to several weeks.
What does Mixed Technology mean?
The Youlaser Prime MT is an innovative laser that combines an ablative CO2 laser (10600nm) with a non-ablative Fiber laser (1550nm). This makes it possible to treat both the superficial and deeper layers of skin simultaneously and effectively.
During treatment, the ablative laser removes the top layer of skin, promoting the regeneration of new skin cells. This helps improve skin texture and reduce wrinkles. At the same time, the non-ablative laser heats the deeper skin layers without damaging the superficial skin, which stimulates the production of elastin and collagen and improves skin firmness and elasticity.
The combination of these techniques in Youlaser Prime MT allows for simultaneous treatments of both skin layers with less recovery time.
Non-ablative skin improvement with Youlaser Prime
Indications
The non-ablative fractional fibre laser (1550nm) of the Youlaser Prime MT treats the deeper skin layers, without damaging the top skin layer. Treatment with the non-ablative fibre laser (1550nm) is especially suitable for general skin improvement:
- Improving skin elasticity through production of collagen and elastin
- Reduction of fine lines and superficial wrinkles
- Improving skin texture and tone
- Pigment spot reduction
- Reduction of enlarged pores
Treatment
During treatment, the non-ablative fibre laser (1550nm) is applied to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the deeper skin layer. In this process, the upper skin layer remains intact.

Recovery time
The recovery time after a 1550 nm laser treatment is relatively short. After treatment, you may experience mild redness and swelling. You can usually resume your normal activities within 1 to 3 days. Redness may last longer, but is usually less intense than with more aggressive laser treatments.
It is important to keep your skin well moisturised and use sun protection after treatment. Avoid intense exercise and hot showers during the first few days to minimise irritation. It is important to follow the instructions before, during and after treatment to get the best possible results and reduce the chances of any negative side effects.
Results
Results are visible after a few weeks, with further improvements developing over months due to continued collagen production in the skin. The skin is smoother more even and supple, with fewer fine lines and large pores. For optimal results, several sessions are usually needed at 4-6 weeks intervals. This depends on your skin quality and cosmetic needs.
Ablative skin improvement with Youlaser Prime MT
Indications
For more intensive skin treatment with the Youlaser Prime, we apply a combination of the ablative CO2 laser (10600nm) and the non-ablative fibre laser (1550nm). This involves intensive treatment of both the superficial and deeper skin layers at the same time. The settings of both lasers are adjusted to the specific needs of the skin to maximise treatment results and minimise recovery time. Ablative treatment is particularly suitable for:
- Reduction of deep wrinkles and lines
- Improving skin texture and tone in ageing or damaged skin
- Recovery from severe sun damage
- Improvement of coarse skin structure
- Reduction of pigmentation caused by skin inflammation

Treatment
During treatment, the ablative CO2 laser (10600nm) is used to evaporate (resurfacing) the top skin layer. At the same time, the non-ablative fibre laser (1550nm) is applied to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the deeper skin layer

Scar improvement with the Youlaser Prime MT
Indications
The combination of an ablative CO2 laser (10600nm) and non-ablative fibre laser (1550nm) is highly effective for treating various types of scars, including:
- Atrophic/sunken scars (caused by acne or chickenpox)
- Hypertrophic/lifted scars (caused by too much collagen when healing)
- Surgical scars (formed after operations)
- Traumatic scars (caused by injury)
- Striae (stretch marks)
Treatment
During the treatment of scars, the ablative CO2 laser (10600nm) is used to vapourise (resurfacing) the top skin layer. Due to its powerful HyperPulse technology (150W), the CO2 laser can achieve a large working depth with the least heating of the surrounding tissues. At the same time, the non-ablative fibre laser (1550nm) is applied to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the deeper skin layer.

Recovery time
The side effects of ablative scar treatment are redness and swelling, and this is normal. The recovery time from ablative treatment is 1 to 2 weeks, while redness may last longer. After ablative treatments, the skin will flake and scabs will form. As a result, itching may also occur, but this is temporary in nature. There may also be a temporary change in skin colour, especially in people with darker skin.
After ablative treatment, there is a small risk of infection or other complications. It is therefore important to follow the instructions before, during and after treatment to get the best possible result and reduce the chance of any negative side effects.
Results
A scar treatment based on the hybrid treatment strategy with the Youlaser Prime MT has the following results:
- Reducing scar visibility: The combination of lasers helps to improve the texture and colour of scars
- Improving skin texture: Stimulation of collagen production leads to a smoother skin surface
- Reduction of collapse or elevation: atrophic scars become fuller; hypertrophic scars become flatter
- Overall skin improvement: Overall skin quality improves
Scar treatments usually require several sessions, with an interval of 4 to 8 weeks. This greatly depends on the severity of the scars and the skin's response to treatment.
Laser treatment at Skinsensible
Consultation
During the laser treatment consultation, the doctor will discuss your cosmetic wishes and related treatment techniques and advise you on the best treatment plan to achieve an effective and natural result. You will receive information on the expected effect, possible side effects and risks, and costs. The doctor will draw up your individual treatment plan and you will receive an informed consent with detailed information about the treatment.
Before treatment
It is important to follow the pre-treatment instructions carefully. These are described in our pre- and aftercare leaflet that we send to you before the consultation and treatment.
Pain management
Ablative laser treatments with a CO2 laser in particular can be perceived as painful. Fortunately, SkinSensible has an extensive arsenal of options to make laser treatment less painful.
As a basis, we use anaesthetic cream to numb the skin of the treated area. We also apply lidocaine injections for painful areas, for a stronger anaesthetic effect. Finally, where possible, we also apply a nerve block. This involves injecting lidocaine near a nerve so that pain impulses in the area of this nerve are not transmitted to the brain. As a result, you feel little or no pain in the area controlled by this nerve. Lidocaine injections should only be used by doctors and medical specialists and not by a skin therapist.
Treatment
Laser light is harmful to your eyes. Therefore, the doctor will give you protective glasses to put on during the treatment. During treatment, the doctor will systematically treat with the area to be treated in small pieces. Air extraction is used to carry harmful gases from the treatment directly. The laser treatment takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the indication and the size of the treated area.
Side effects
Depending on the intensity of the treatment and individual skin condition, the temporary side effects below may occur:
- Redness
- Swelling
- Crusting
- Pain
- Too much or too little pigment
- Itching and scaling
After laser treatment, there is a small chance of infection or other complications. It is therefore important to follow the instructions before, during and after treatment to get the best possible result and reduce the chance of any negative side effects.
In case of unexpected or prolonged side effects and any suspicion of a complication, please contact SkinSensible immediately.
Recovery time
The recovery time of non-ablative laser treatment is 1 to 3 days, with redness may persist longer. The recovery time of an ablative treatment is 1 to 2 weeks, where redness may persist longer. So keep this in mind when planning a laser treatment.
Aftercare
After laser treatment, the skin needs to be treated very carefully for an extended period of time. It is therefore important to carefully follow the instructions in the Aftercare brochure to get the best possible result and reduce the chance of any negative side effects. If you have any questions, you can always contact SkinSensible.
Results
With ablative treatments, the first results are usually visible a few weeks after treatment when the skin has recovered. Skin texture is improved, colour more even and skin is firmer and smoother. Scars appear more superficial and the relief difference diminishes. Several treatment sessions are required depending on the indication, the type of treatment and the intensity of the treatment.
With non-ablative treatment, the result is more subtle. Collagen production in the skin is a slow process that can take 3-6 months. Several treatment sessions are required depending on the indication, type of treatment and intensity of treatment.
